Taramala
Third bead of the Taramala
O Maa Tara, jagat janani,
Rising early, starting my journey.
Walking briskly for pradakshina,
Excited and elated to get darshana.
On the way, Hibiscus winked,
declaring they were first.
Staying awake, bloomed in the morning,
Surrendering themselves at your feet.
Pleasant chirping heard from afar,
Birds serving you with beautiful songs.
Bees humming, gathering honey,
Sun piercing through to touch your feet.
Water shrugging off its sleep,
Eagerly awaiting abhishekam.
Fish dancing with the first shine,
To be part of your Naivedyam.
Jealous of the Sun, Varuna jumped in,
Sprinkling rain welcoming thee.
Earth spreading its fragrance,
Carrying you, with reverence.
Every day I rise early, seeking your darshana,
Yet my friends are miles ahead.
I sleep each night, dreaming to outrun them,
Keeping this cycle alive and fed.

This is the third bead of the Taramala. Taramala is a collection of poems dedicated to the divine Mother Tara and Batuka Bhairava, where each poem represents a bead in a mala dedicated to Maa Tara. These poems are dedicated to the lotus feet of the master who introduced the Nama-Amrutham of Maa Tara to me.
Sri Pavankumar, who writes under the pen name of Tāradāsa, is a member of Kamakhya Bhairava Upasaka Foundation. He is an ardent devotee of Ma Tara and Bhairava. The following lines shared by him exemplify his bhakti towards his Ishta-
‘Bhagawati’s guard,
Her name my shield and my strength,
I obey her call.’
